Bell Plays Bernstein
Superstar violinist Joshua Bell returns to perform Leonard Bernstein’s heart-wrenching Serenade, a piece Bernstein dedicated to the memory of his mentor, the legendary conductor Serge Koussevitzky. Composer of the Year Mason Bates’ Desert Transport depicts the Arizona desert as seen from above in a helicopter. Spanish conductor Juanjo Mena makes his PSO debut with Brahms' stunning Third Symphony, a prime example of the deeply personal music composed during the Romantic era.

Tribute to the Beatles - Beatlemania Magic
Beatlemania Magic, a national touring Beatles Tribute band, recreates the early Beatles concerts with identical costumes, equipment, and spot on harmonies.  Songs are played using Vox amps, Gretsch, Hofner & Rickenbacker guitars made famous by the Beatles. The look and sound are uncanny.

Reinventing Radio: An Evening with Ira Glass
The creator of the acclaimed public radio show This American Life explains the keys to his program's tremendous success, including the process of tracking down the great untold stories. Glass includes radio excerpts and music, creating a "live" show as the audience watches. At a special pre-show reception, Glass will be interviewed by hosts from WYEP and Essential Public Radio.

Le Miroir de Jésus by André Caplet
The chamber oratorio Le Miroir de Jésus by André Caplet with poignant lyrics by poet Henry Ghéon is an hour of stunning orchestration and sublime harmonies receiving its Pittsburgh premiere. Soprano Laura Knoop Very performs with The Oakland Girls Chamber Choir, and the Chamber Light Players of Symbiotic Collusion.

Chatham Baroque-Musical Journey of Bishop Martinez Compañon
Chatham Baroque collaborates with guest director Tom Zajac and 12 world-class singers and instrumentalists in a unique program of popular songs and dances from late 18th-century Peru that survive in an unlikely source, a collection of water color paintings! The program includes songs with Indian and African influences, drinking songs, love songs and a hymn to the Virgin Mary, and will be accompanied by a slide presentation of the beautiful images from the manuscript.
