Trio Nova Mundi
Trio Nova Mundi showcases composers of the New World, in part by performing new or lesser-known works alongside the classics. As Trio Nova Mundi, violinist Maureen Conlon Gutierrez, cellist Elisa Kohanski, and pianist Becky Billock, have received glowing reviews in BBC Music Magazine and Fanfare. Since 2001, the trio has performed throughout the United States, and in Mexico, Ecuador, and Africa.

In its debut concert, the Heritage Gospel Chorale of Pittsburgh, founded & and directed by Rev. Herbert V.R.P. Jones, will present music of African-American & non-African-American composers/arrangers, the music of Recording Artist, Nikki Porter, and will pay tribute to local and National Gospel Artist, Curtis Lewis, Sr.

Splendid City
A concert planned entirely by Western PA high school students featuring the Pittsburgh Symphony, playing side-by-side with student musicians in part of the program which includes Rossini's Barber of Seville Overture, Gounod's Funeral March of a Marionette, Michael Gilbertson's Splendid City, and Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture.

PICT Classic Theatre's Downtown Series concludes with the cabaret-style revue, Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris by Jacques Brel with English lyrics and additional material by Eric Blau and Mort Schuman. Alan Stanford directs with musical direction by Douglas Levine.

Monteverdi’s Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda
Chatham Baroque will perform Claudio Monteverdi's complete Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda of 1624. Attack Theatre's new choreography represents combat scenes described in the text. The vocal ensemble Ping performs the madrigals, with solos from Grammy Award-winning tenor Aaron Sheehan. This "mini-opera" from the eighth book of madrigals is based on poetry by Torquato Tasso and includes a dramatic love story set against the East-West conflict of the First Crusade. Adam Paul's video art provides a dynamic backdrop throughout.

Indigo Girls with the Pittsburgh Symphony
Amy Ray and Emily Saliers — better known as the Indigo Girls — perform with the PSO conducted by Robert Bernhardt. Twenty years after their debut CD, the Indigo Girls still bring sublime harmonies to their heartfelt catalog of songs. Drawing from 14 original studio albums, Ray and Saliers will perform their classics, such as "Power of Two," "Closer to Fine," "Virginia Woolf," "Kid Fears" and many more.

I Got Gershwin!
On the cover of Time magazine at age 26, on the Broadway stage, in Hollywood, from Tin Pan Alley to Paris, George Gershwin dominated the scene of the early twentieth century. Join the Mendelssohn for a delightful evening of song, including excerpts from Porgy and Bess, and standards like "I Got Rhythm," "Embraceable You," "The Man I Love," "Let's Call The Whole Thing Off," and "Love Walked In." You'll hear rarities from Hollywood, solo songs, and some of Gershwin's own piano arrangements and Preludes.
