Cabaret Series - Marilyn Maye
Marilyn Maye appeared on the Johnny Carson show a record 76 times. She appeals to Broadway and cabaret people, who like their singing big and theatrical, and the jazz crowd, who want everything cool and understated. Her recording of Cabaret became an instant hit and her RCA "Lamp Is Low" album is considered a timeless classic. Named "Celebrity of the Year" by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs each year since 2009, Maye received the 2013 "Legend" award from New York's Nightlife Critics Association.

Steampunk
David Anderson's Quintet uses the same instruments as Prokofiev's Oboe Quintet while combining elements of funk, jazz, and a little Shostakovich. Carl Nielsen's short Serenata in Vano (1914) takes a charming and humorous look at unrequited chivalry. David Bruce completed Steampunk 2010 after a friend showed him several handmade instruments inspired by the Steampunk movement. An octet of winds, brass, and strings takes listeners through an alternate history of sound, color, rhythm, and melody.
