"Spanish Day" The Flamenco Rock Opera
Featuring legendary flamenco singer Ines Bacan, dancers Jose el Oruco and Cihtli Ocampo, San Diego Latin rock band Sir Sultry, and Ethan Margolis; this rock opera tells the story of Michael Miller, who escapes to Spain and discovers his passion for the exotic world of Flamenco. Stage design features woodcut drawings by 'Calvin and Hobbes' comic strip author Bill Watterson.

A Musical Tribute to "Mr. Wonderful"
The late Nick Jordanoff’s musical colleagues play a tribute benefit concert and reception to establish the Jordanoff Jazz Trumpet Scholarship. Saxophonist Mike Tomaro premieres a jazz ensemble composition in Nick’s honor. Also featured: Duquesne's jazz guitar ensemble Catch 22, and a recorded tribute by trumpeter Sean Jones. Tony Mowod will emcee.

Marvin Hamlisch, Helwig Distinguished Artist
Pianist, composer, and arranger, Marvin Hamlisch, has won 3 Oscars, 4 Grammys, 4 Emmys, a Tony, and a Pulitzer Prize. Hamlisch is principal pops conductor for the National, Pittsburgh, and 4 other symphony orchestras and was musical director for Barbra Streisand’s 1994 concert tour. For part of this concert, Mr. Hamlisch will be joined by the IUP Jazz Ensemble.

I Am Artist
“I Am Artist” is a new performance series by the Alumni Theater Company, a new youth-based company in residence directed by Hallie Donner. Offerings include "Bad Seeds," An evening of song, dance, and complete impertinence; "Realized and on the Rise," based on characters by playwright August Wilson; and "ATC Exposed," an exciting and diverse assortment of monologues, scenes, poetry, dances, and original writing.

Shirley Jones, Marvin & The Music Man
Western Pennsylvania native Shirley Jones starred in the film version of "The Music Man," and also made her mark in "Oklahoma" and "Carousel." The Music Man contains such memorable tunes as "Seventy-six Trombones," "Gary, Indiana," and "Till There Was You." Marvin Hamlisch conducts.

Jones-Maruri Duo
Since 1990, Michael Kevin Jones, cello, and Agustin Maruri, guitar, have played concerts across the globe. Their discography includes world premiere recordings of 19th century repertoire, and their CD, Original Music for Cello and Guitar, was a top ten classical hit in Hong Kong for a year. They performed in Beijing during the 2009 Olympic Games.
