Drue Heinz Lectures: Junot Díaz
"Hip, irreverent, funny, and above all, fiercely intelligent." The New Yorker named Junot Diaz to its list of 20 top writers for the 21st century. In addition to the 2008 Pulitzer, his long-awaited first novel, "The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao," received the National Book Critics Circle Award.

The Queens
Written by Norman Chaurette and directed by Sheila McKenna, based on Shakespeare's Richard III with choreography by Andre Koslowski. It's a classic struggle for power and status as six queens vie for the throne: from the aged Duchess of York, who is 99 years old; to young Lady Anne, who must marry Richard III in order to reign; to the Duchess' daughter Anne Dexter who has no hands.

The Capitol Steps
Public radio's best-known political satire and sketch comedy troupe, The Capitol Steps are the winner (for the second year in a row) in the 23rd Annual "Wammie" Awards of the Washington Area Music Association for "Cabaret/Musical Theater." The Capitol Steps began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and institutions that employed them.
