An Evening of Twyla Tharp
PBT presents two works by Tony and Emmy award-winning choreographer Twyla Tharp. Described by Tharp as "fierce, driving and relentless," In the Upper Room melds ballet and modern dance in a powerful tour de force driven by Philip Glass's rhythmic score. In Nine Sinatra Songs, Tharp blends ballet and ballroom movement, elevating the glamour and finesse of social dancing to a dance theatre quality.

Verdi's Macbeth
Resonance Works | Pittsburgh presents the first performances of Verdi's Macbeth in Pittsburgh in 27 years. Featuring soprano Amelia D'Arcy, baritone Galen Bower and the Gothic-inspired architecture of the Charity Randall Theatre, this production with chamber orchestra will bring the audience chillingly close to Verdi's psychodrama.

Noah Bendix-Balgley Plays Bruch
Praised by the Post-Gazette for his "graceful" baton work, Nikolaj Znaider returns to conduct as PSO Concertmaster Noah Bendix-Balgley performs Bruch's virtuosic Scottish Fantasy. Znaider also leads Kodaly's Dances of Galanta, an homage to the composer's Hungarian hometown, and Schumann's romantically-inspired Symphony #4.

The Kyiv Ukrainian Dance Ensemble and special guests Gerdan Music Ensemble of Washington DC, the Ukrainian Cultural Trust Choir and Slava Dance Company present the story of one family, four generations and their journey from Ukraine to the American dream. PSO Chamber Players in Foxburg
Fifth annual classical music Oktoberfest. Four members of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra play the Dvorak Piano Quartet, op. 87, plus works by Schumann, Mahler, Dohnanyi, and Fibich. The Red Brick Gallery offers cookies, cider, and tea beforehand, and ARCA's exhibit space is showing pastels, watercolors, and photography.

Fiddlesticks Family Concert: "Halloween Spooktacular"
Join conductor Lawrence Loh, the PSO and "scared-y cat" Fiddlesticks for a spooktacular concert. Thrill to kid-friendly, spooky music from favorite films like Sorcerer's Apprentice, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Harry Potter, as well as Grieg's rousing "In the Hall of the Mountain King," depicting Peer Gynt's race to escape the collapsing Mountain King's cave. Little costumed munchkins are welcomed.

Pittsburgh Concert Chorale, directed by Susan Medley, welcomes the Central Assembly of God Choir of Houston, PA (Marsha Owens, director); South Fayette Vocal Express Show Choir (Christine Elek, director); and Woodland Hills High School Chamber Choir (Rachel Godfrey, director). The finale features the combined choirs in selections from Carl Orff's Carmina Burana.
