A free concert including Brahms' Clarinet Sonata in F minor, Villa-Lobos' Duo for Oboe & Bassoon, Quentin Kim's Lilies, and Rachmaninoff's Cello Sonata in G minor. Artists include Nolan Petote, clarinet; Nathan Carterette, piano; Rise Kostilnik, oboe; Karen Grzesiak, bassoon; Yeeha Chiu, piano; and Charlotta Ross, cello.

Beethoven's Ninth Symphony

David Hartt: Stray Light
David Hartt: Stray Light presents color photographs, sculpture, and a video installation by Chicago-based Canadian artist David Hartt (b. 1967). Stray Light reflects on the iconic headquarters of the Johnson Publishing Company, famous for producing Jet and Ebony magazines. The 11-story building, built in 1971, was the first major downtown Chicago building designed by an African-American since the 18th century.

Fiddlesticks: A Salute to America
Resident Conductor Lawrence Loh and the PSO salute our nation in a family concert featuring music inspired by America. From the heart-pounding drum line to the moving "Stars and Stripes Forever," march along with the symphony throughout this concert, and join in a sing-along with Katy Williams in "You're a Grand Ol' Flag!" Concertmaster Noah Bendix-Balgley will perform his arrangement of "The Star-Spangled Banner" which he played at last year's Pirates home opener.

Works by scientist/composers including chemist Alexander Borodin, geologist Henk Badings and computer scientist Eric Barndollar as well as two Contrapuncti by the mathematically-inclined J. S. Bach. Saturday's "parlor concert" is at 391 Woodland Rd. in Oakmont, Sunday at Carlow University's Kresge Theater.
