Passing Strange
The ground-breaking adventurous musical Passing Strange by Stew and Heidi Rodewald tells the story of a young African-American's travels from his roots in Los Angeles to Europe and back in his search for personal and artistic authenticity. Winner: 2008 Tony for Best Book of a Musical and three Drama Desk awards including Outstanding Musical. Mark Clayton Southers directs.

Cello Fury
WQED and the Downtown Pittsburgh Partnership present a LIVE performance by the "cello rock powerhouse" Cello Fury to usher in a new season of the PBS Arts Fall Festival on WQED-TV. The PBS Arts Fall Festival -- a Friday night fall tradition since 2011 --will be hosted by Kristin Chenoweth beginning Friday, September 26 at 9 pm with "Sweeney Todd" in concert with the New York Philharmonic.

Souvenir
Florence Foster Jenkins was an eccentric wealthy socialite whose utter inability to carry a tune never prevented her from holding recitals at the Ritz Carlton or selling out Carnegie Hall. Told through the eyes of her accompanist, Cosme McMoon, Stephen Temperley's hilariously off-key Souvenir has been called "the funniest show on Broadway since The Producers." It's a wonderful and poignant journey through her performances that were the talk of New York. Tome' Cousin directs.

Public Record - A Pittsburgh Biennial Exhibition
Public Record — a nine-person multimedia exhibition in celebration of Pittsburgh artists — explores love, absurdity, surveillance, gaming, and identity. Artists include Rafael Abreu-Canedo, Matthew Biederman (with Aljosa Abrahamsberg, Marko Peljhan, and Brian Springer), Carolina Loyola-Garcia, Paolo Pedercini, Caroline Record, Paul Rosenblatt, Martha Rial, Susanne Slavick, and Two Girls Working. 'Paul’s Vinyl Records' (at 707 Penn Gallery) features recordings were sold, collected, and (well) played before the artist collected them again.

Newberry Consort - Rosas das Rosas: Cantigas de Santa Maria
While languishing in ilness, Alfonso X - twelfth-century king of Castille, Leon and Galicia—prayed to the Virgin Mary for divine intercession that he might survive. After his recovery, he commissioned songs, or cantigas, recounting the Virgin's miracles and singing her praises. Set to compelling melodies, these cantigas are, at turns, funny, moving, and even awe inspiring. This multimedia production includes lavish images from the E codex, currently held in El Escorial, Spain.

The Wiggles
The number one children's entertainment group, The Wiggles, are bringing their "catchy brand of preschool pop" (Chicago Tribune) back to North America. "The band that rocks the cradle" (The New York Times) will perform songs from their new CD and DVD, Apples and Bananas. Pop-Up Exhibition: Gabe Felice & Jacob Stempky
Greensburg native Gabe Felice lives at the Brewhouse in Pittsburgh. His new work, Hands, stems from a recent fascination with the elegant, yet primal significance owned and operated by the human hand. Jacob Stempky was raised in Michigan and from a very early age was especially fond of drawing. He graduated Cum Laude from The University of Michigan School with a degree in Drawing, Painting & Printmaking. In Chicago, he started The Super Duper Art Co, then moved to Pittsburgh in 2009.
