Montemezzi's The Love Spell

The Love Spell (L’Incantesimo), was written by verismo master Italo Montemezzi for the NBC Symphony Orchestra and premiered on radio in 1943. Lush, rhapsodic late-Romantic music accompanies the story of a mystical love triangle: a harsh nobleman stabs a white hind in the forest and finds that he has wounded his wife; only her former lover can bring her back to life and turn the wintry forest into spring.
