CLASSICAL WQED-FM 89.3 LAUNCHES UNIQUE
PITTSBURGH CONCERT CHANNEL ONLINE AND ON WQED-HD2
PITTSBURGH—Classical WQED-FM 89.3 just made Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra performances available 24-hours-a-day.
Now available at wqed.org/fm and WQED-HD2 (89.3-2FM) on HD Radio, the Pittsburgh Concert Channel exclusively broadcasts archived local performances (WQED-FM has recorded and broadcast) from the nationally syndicated Pittsburgh Symphony Radio series along with select concerts from Chatham Baroque, CMU School of Music and many others. Future plans for this one-of-a-kind channel include adding performances from other local arts groups. WQED-HD2 joins Classical WQED-FM 89.3 broadcasting in Pittsburgh and Classical WQEJ-FM 89.7 being simulcast in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, both of which are also available worldwide at wqed.org/fm.
“The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra National Broadcast Series (Pittsburgh Symphony Radio) is a historic and successful partnership between the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and WQED, and we are thrilled that it is now being shared with a broad community,” said Jim Wilkinson, president and CEO of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
WQED Pittsburgh has a proud history of honors, including 128 National and Mid-Atlantic Emmy® Awards, an Academy Award, and many, many others, including two Emmy® Awards for Station Excellence.
