Announces Election of New Leaders for 2013-2015

Area television executives will promote creative leadership and education in their positions

PITTSBURGHThe Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the election of new leaders to its Executive Committee and Board of Governors. David Solomon, WQED-TV Executive Producer of local production in Pittsburgh, has been elected to serve as the chapter’s president. Solomon is recognized for writing and producing some of WQED’s most compelling documentaries including nationally-distributed “Long Road Home” in 2011. Before joining WQED in 2000, Solomon spent 13 years as a news and programming producer at KDKA-TV. He served as NATAS Awards Chair for four years and a Governor-At-Large for two years. Solomon is the chapter’s first president from Pittsburgh.

Along with Solomon, the following officers have also been elected to serve a one-year term.

Serving on the Executive Committee for NATAS Mid-Atlantic Chapter for 2013-14 will be:

Vice President – Michelle Bradsher, Director of Marketing and Communications, Melmark
Bradsher has more than a decade of television news experience. Her previous experience includes Variety Club, executive producer at NBC10, and producing positions at CBS3 and WGHP in Greensboro, N.C. Bradsher lives in Havertown.

Treasurer – John Mussoni, Managing Editor of Delaware, WHYY-TV and Newsworks.org
Mussoni has served tours of duty for the Comcast Network (CN8) as news director and WTXF-TV (Fox 29) as executive producer and news director. He began working in Philadelphia television as assignment manager of WCAU-TV, and is proud of the fact that he used to send Brian Williams around the state of New Jersey looking for news in the Garden State.

Secretary – Courtney Brinkerhoff, CBR Productions
Brinkerhoff began her career working in CNN’s Washington, D.C. bureau. After coming to Philadelphia and working with the Philadelphia Inquirer, she became executive producer of “The Ten O’clock News” at Fox 29. Her specialty has evolved into producing fundraising videos for non-profits and independent schools through her own production business, CBR Productions. Brinkerhoff lives in West Chester.
