IRISH SODA BREAD

Ingredients
4 c flour1/3 c sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 TB caraway seeds
1/2 c raisins
2 cu buttermilk
Procedure
Preheat oven to 400°. Mix all ingredients, reserving some flour for kneading. Turn dough out onto floured surface and knead about 5 minutes. Form into round loaf and cut deep cross into the top with a sharp knife.
Dust cookie sheet with flour and place loaf in the center. Bake about 45 minutes.
