Digital Television Conversion
On April 1, 2009, WQED-TV ceased analog transmission. However, you may have been seeing some promotional announcements on our air which still reflect the digital conversion. WQED must continue to air these announcements because of FCC rules and regulations and until we install our new antenna.
In accordance with the FCC, WQED-DT Pittsburgh is delaying construction of its post-transition channel to no later than October 18, 2009. Over-the-air viewers need to do nothing right now, but will at some date have to "re-scan" their digital receivers in order to continue receiving the WQED digital signal. When it is time, we will let you know when and what you need to do. If you have any questions, call WQED at 412-622-1370 or write us at WQED, 4802 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh 15213.
WQED-TV also files the required FCC Form 388 with the FCC on a quarterly basis to report on its digital TV consumer education efforts during the previous calendar quarter. The reports we file are available here on our website and at our main offices located at 4802 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh 15213. Click here for the FCC Form 388 WQED filed last quarter.
