Pitch Perfect
April 11, 2012
The Afro American Music Institute has had a lasting impact on the students it serves, by teaching the craft and culture of African American musical forms. "Pitch Perfect" is the premiere episode of the WQED Series Portrayal & Perception: African American Men & Boys. In this episode, Minette Seate shows how the Afro American Music Institute’s Boys Choir has built a legacy of mentorship for African American males in our area. The program goes beyond choir rehearsals to meet the people responsible for this culture of responsibility to one’s community. Beyond the Broadcast: For more of Minette's conversation with Dr. Larry Davis, of the University of Pittsburgh, visit the Horizons page on Facebook and check out the Afro American Music Institute at http://afroamericanmusic.org/home/
