The Pittsburgh Black Media Federation has announced that WQED is being recognized with five awards in its 33rd annual Robert L. Vann Media Awards contest. The recognition honors excellence in journalism coverage of African American and African diaspora communities, individuals and issues for content produced during the calendar year 2020.

WQED scored 6 wins during this year's Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy® Awards ceremony. The honors included the coveted Community Service Emmy® and the station’s sixth Emmy® for Overall Excellence, a record in that category among stations in the Mid-Atlantic Chapter.
