Music on the Edge is proud to feature the acclaimed chamber ensemble, HYPERCUBE, in concert at the Frick Fine Arts Auditorium on Thursday, February 8th, at 8 pm.

Hypercube returns to Pittsburgh following a thrilling performance on this series in 2017.

Known for their “jarring, compelling” performances (Washington Post) and hailed as “fearless and flawless” (Sequenza 21), HYPERCUBE brings a unique blend of high-energy and boundary-defying chamber music. The NYC-based quartet, comprised of Erin Rogers (saxophones), Jay Sorce (classical & electric guitar), Andrea Lodge (piano & accordion), and Chris Graham (percussion), has established a reputation for their fearless exploration of cutting-edge works that span both electric and acoustic worlds.

HYPERCUBE has graced prestigious stages, including The Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage, and the 40th International Festival of New Music “Manuel Enríquez” (Mexico City).

The evening promises an immersive experience, featuring a diverse selection of contemporary compositions, including works by Pittsburgh-based composers Annie Hui-Hsin Hsieh, Amy Williams, and Charles Peck. The program includes:

Voided Cross IV (2018) for quartet by Eric Wubbels (12’)
