The Yale Spizzwinks(?) in Pittsburgh: The Hometown Concert

January 6 @ 8:00 pm

Free

The Yale Spizzwinks(?), the world’s oldest underclassman a cappella group, will be coming to Pittsburgh in January! Join us for a concert at Heinz Memorial Chapel featuring Pittsburgh native Giri Viswanathan (Yale ’25). Come experience an unforgettable night of music and humor!

Doors open at 7:30 for a 8:00 performance. There will be one 10-minute intermission. Tickets are available online or at the door.

The Spizzwinks(?) have been sharing their unique blend of music and humor since 1914. Over the years, our repertoire has grown to include an eclectic range of songs—everything from The Beatles to Marvin Gaye to ABBA to Ed Sheeran. Concerts also include Yale classics and a touch of tongue-in-cheek humor. This winning brand of collegiate a cappella has moved audiences around the world to tears and laughter, with a fan club including Lady Gaga, Joe Biden, and the Vice Premier of China.

The Spizzwinks are a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that works to spread music education and performance around the world and at home. They provide completely free performances and masterclasses to communities around the world, most recently in Morocco and Myanmar. The ‘Winks also have long-term relationships with local New Haven schools to interact and perform with students in their arts and music programs. Find out more at www.spizzwinks.com
