Here he speaks with Jim Cunningham and the Friends of the Pittsburgh Symphony in the Dorothy Porter Simmons Regency Rooms at Heinz Hall about the program and his career as the conductor of the Capitol Fourth and Memorial Day concerts seen on PBS, the Pops scene in general, his favorite film composers, work with the Indianapolis, National Arts Center of Ottawa, Naples Florida, San Diego Symphony and National Symphony orchestras and his music making with Carol Channing and Marvin Hamlisch.
