Christopher Powell is the new Executive Director of Pittsburgh Festival Opera. He invites you to the gala A Beautiful  Night in the Neighborhood May 11, 6:30 at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh with Mrs. Joanne Rogers in attendance where you’ll hear a preview of one of the big events in the summer—a staging to two Fred Rogers operas, Wind Storm in Bubbleland and Spoon Mountain. Jim Cunningham asked Christopher to describe Pittsburgh connections and his work at Glimmerglass Opera, Tanglewood, Pittsburgh Opera and producing the half time show for the 1995 Super Bowl broadcast. You’ll also hear  a look at the plans for the summer season of Pittsburgh Festival Opera.
