Harmonia
with Angela Mariani
Listening to Art: Street Scenes - This week on Harmonia, we're continuing our Listening to Art mini-series with the sounds of Early Modern public spaces. We've got a busy hour lined up, as We're heading to market and patrolling the city walls before we get to start dancing in the street. We'll hear from melodious fishmongers and greengrocers and listen in on the Bruegel family's village scenes and peasant dances.

Sunday Baroque
When Italian violinist Francesco Geminiani was invited to play for King George, he allegedly insisted on having George Frideric Handel as his accompanist. At the time Handel was on the outs with the King, and the story goes that this little reconciliation mended the relationship, and cemented a friendship between the two musicians as well. You'll hear music by both composer on Sunday Baroque this weekend.
