Hailing from Butler, Pennsylvania, The Armadillos started experimenting in 2007 with acoustic instruments, playing songs they’d heard on grandpa's scratchy records. After relocating to Pittsburgh, The Armadillos developed an original, upbeat sound built on Appalachian and old-time roots. The results were fast, dance-able songs that often feature somber subject matter and well-intentioned social critique.
The performance was recorded on April 23, 2017 at Club Cafe in South Side Pittsburgh, PA. The Armadillos performed a recent track, "Moon Spoon." The interview was recorded at Dave's Music Mine in Pittsburgh’s South Side neighborhood.
