It's the 28th year for the 3 Rivers Film Festival, running November 6-21, 2009 at all three Pittsburgh Filmmakers theaters. OnQ contributor Minette Seate gives OnQ viewers a preview of what they'll see.

OnQ goes to the Teddy Bear Hospital of Pittsburgh in the Lawrenceville neighborhood, where "Dr. Jill" restores the love in damaged or worn-out stuffed animals.


The story of struggle and the ultimate triumph of the brave African American soldiers who served their country during World War II. The film chronicles the "Tuskegee Airmen" program, a controversial military initiative designed to measure African-Americans' competence for flying the engines of war.


In this half-hour roundtable discussion, WQED's Chris Moore will be joined by fellow media professionals to talk about the coverage of the media and violence. Among the discussion points: How is violence covered by the local media? Can the media actually have a role in reducing violence? What is our influence on the situation?


Two Wilkinsburg residents are growing gardens to fight the blight, and to help rebuild a neighborhood devastated over the years by poverty, drugs and drive-by shootings.
