There are many Americans that might say Vietnam was a useless war. For most of us that were there, it was a fight against the
spread of Communism and to help the South Vietnamese. We felt it was our duty to do “whatever it takes” to defeat the enemy. I believe most veterans of all wars have a sense of pride for doing their best.

Early in the war our troops fought with outdated equipment and poorly functioning M-15’s. But we lost because of “dirty politics”, bad strategies, and a lack of resolve. The protesters and news media were not heroic by bringing the war’s end, they actually helped it fail. Freedom isn’t free. And yes, we still hate Jane Fonda.
