And Both Shall Row... My Love and I

It started with a shipwreck in 1850. Two Irish sweethearts are headed to the New World when calamity strikes. The chaos of the shipwreck separated the couple. But many years later, WQED picks up the story in Pittsburgh where their implausible reunion is a love story for the ages. It’s just one of a collection of poignant, romantic and life-affirming stories set in Western Pennsylvania – all with an engaging musical thread. Other segments include a long-married couple whose love of church music helped them through the darkest times; a husband-wife team who share their love of jazz with urban youth; a same-sex married couple who help amateur opera singers find their voices on stage. The documentary title comes from a line in a beloved folk song that captures the essence of faith, families, commitment and love. Produced by Beth Dolinar.

And Both Shall Row... My Love and I aired on Feb 08, 2018.
